- Australian shares generated solid gains, although sector performance remained highly dispersed, with Consumer Discretionary, Information Technology and A-REITs outperforming, while Energy and Health Care lagged.
- Fixed-income markets were mostly positive for the quarter, with credit, high-yield bonds and emerging market debt outperforming government bonds.

Why did technology stocks remain a key driver of returns?

How did bonds and credit investments support returns?
Fixed-income markets were generally positive. It remained relatively strong against the Japanese yen, traded around the middle of its recent range against the US dollar and euro, and remained weaker against the British pound.
What this means for super members
This quarter was a reminder that markets can quickly recover after periods of uncertainty. Strong returns from global shares, supported by positive returns from bonds, credit and property, helped drive overall investment outcomes.
For super members, remaining focused on long-term goals remains important. While individual markets and sectors may experience periods of strength or weakness, diversified portfolios are designed to provide exposure to a broad range of opportunities while helping manage risk over time.
What this means for pension members
For pension members drawing an income from their Pension Account, the quarter delivered a reassuring combination of growth and stability.
